We. Love. Christmas.
As if you couldn’t tell yet since we’re making 31 posts in a row about it.
We’ve spent a good amount of time this month making and baking things for Handmade Christmas, and we want to take a break for a bit from that to look at other things we love about Christmas. For us, Christmas is all about spending time with family, and today we wanted to share with you our own family traditions at Christmastime:
We are just so excited to have our first guest post today! Maria from Tinselbox is going to show us how to make Easy Vanilla Salted Caramels (which sound AMAZING, btw!!)

Valentines, Easter, July 4th, Halloween, and of course, Christmas! Maria is the CEO of Tinselbox and gets to spend her days mailing awesome holiday stuff to people. How great is that? Anyway, here’s Maria!

So quick. So easy. So delicious!
That’s how I would describe these Peppermint Cake Mix Cookies I’m about to introduce you to, if I wasn’t currently eating them. So if I tried to it would be more like “spthhhrmmsnnth kliphthsy” and spit some of the cookie out and that would just make me sad because these cookies are THAT GOOD.
Today’s post is packed with awesome! I have stumbled upon something AMAZING and just couldn’t wait to share it with y’all! This one simple discovery has totally rocked my baking world! Every one of my recipes that I have used this in has improved a TON. And it is so so easy.
Homemade. Roasted. Ground. Cinnamon.
I know right?! I didn’t know you could make it either. I even dug around and couldn’t find much information at all on just making ground cinnamon from sticks.
I know what you’re thinking. Sugar Scrub? What’s sugar scrub?
No, it’s not edible. Well it might be, I dunno, I haven’t tried it. Let me know if you do, I guess. But it’s not for eating! It’s for your skin. No really! I was skeptical too.
But last May, we made Lavender Sugar Scrub in our local MOPS meeting, and my life will never be the same.
Oh boy, have I got a treat for you today! I am very excited to share this recipe and idea with you!
This is a pistachio cake – it’s kind of uncommon (I actually hadn’t heard of it until I met Matt). Matt’s grandmother used to make these for he and his brother’s birthday every year and they absolutely LOVE it. Nowadays she doesn’t bake much anymore, but I got passed down the recipe and now it’s our family tradition too. Normally we just make this as a bundt cake with a sugar glaze on top, but the shape of it just lent itself to being turned into a Christmas Wreath cake. It’s quick and easy to put together and makes a stunning gift or dessert for any Christmas get together!
Here in our little town, we have the cutest family that makes the most fragrant, wonderful soaps and lotions you’ve ever used!
They’re called Arrows and Oaks, and they own a five acre farm in our neighboring town. They found themselves with an abundance of goat milk and decided to find a use for it. And because of that inventive spirit, they now own a small business that ships their delightful items nationwide!
Mmmm, I love me some hot cocoa! Especially when it’s rich and warm, accompanied by chocolate chips and peppermint pieces. Here in Texas, October means cooler weather, but when we say “cooler” down here we mean mid-80s. But with Christmas comes winter weather, and then you don’t really have an excuse anymore, do you?
To be honest, we don’t even really care if it’s cold or not. Hot cocoa is awesome any time you want it, even if it’s hot outside. People don’t only drink hot coffee in cooler weather. Why not cocoa, right?
For Day 2 of our 31 Days of Handmade Christmas Series, we’re going to make Mini Banana Bread Loaves! These are super easy to put together, they’re inexpensive, and they’re just adorable.
Grab some mini loaf pans from Walmart (or find some here), your ingredients, some adorable scrapbook paper, and some ribbon! Follow the directions below for the BEST banana bread you’ll ever have!
Here in central Texas the weather has FINALLY gotten cooler. The morning air is crisp, and it doesn’t feel like you’re on the surface of the sun anymore in the afternoons. I have the windows open this morning so we can enjoy the fresh breeze throughout our home. It’s got me feeling like this…
This beautiful weather has me ready to make some delicious comfort food, so I thought I’d share with you my top 10 fall recipes that you’ve GOTTA try!
