Work parties, family get-togethers, Church celebrations.  So many opportunities to enjoy time with people you love eating delicious food.

I was recently invited by a dear friend of mine to attend a Christmas Card and Cookie Exchange party, and it was wonderful!  I just couldn’t wait to share it with you guys!

There were about 10 of us gathered in her living room with plates full of seasonal cookies on the kitchen table.  So many delicious treats to try out while enjoying the company of some of the sweetest women I know.  It was a perfect night!

Our hostess had these adorable voting sheets and we all picked our favorite cookies! There were mint chocolate chip cookies, orange cranberry shortbread, peanut butter blossoms, and more, plus I made our Peppermint Cake Mix Cookies.

Our sweet hostess even had prizes for the winners of each category! Cute bowls, comfy Christmas socks, and even a Sonic card! After we all stuffed ourselves silly with cookies, we played 3 rounds of Catchphrase and laughed way too much and way too loud.

On the way out, we exchanged Christmas cards and cookie recipes with each other!

Christmastime is all about good times spent with friends and family, and good food, too.  We had such a great time and got to sample everyone’s awesome cookie recipes!  I was so thankful for time spent with good friends.

What kind of unique Christmas parties have you guys been to?  I’d love to get some other fun ideas for later this month or next year.  Let us know in the comments or on Facebook or Twitter!

  1. Such a great idea. I am terrible at sending Christmas cards and who doesn’t love cookies!

  2. Oh my lord, it all looks so good! I’m coming over…. <3

  3. The cookies look wonderful! One side of my family does “cookie day” where everyone gathers at one house and we make all the family favorite recipes. Each household gets a portion to take home. It’s a great way to divide the work and still end up with several types of cookies!

    • Sheila, that’s a perfect idea! I love it! Such a great way to spread the cookies around and not be stuck with so many to eat after your kids go to bed 😉

  4. I am a sucker for a party with a theme. This will be happening at my house, if not this Christmas, then next. (Pinning so I don’t forget!) I already host a massive cookie baking day for a group of ladies from my church, but I could see this idea playing well our neighbors. I’ve seen cookie swap ideas, but nothing like this…LOVE IT! Thanks!
