Frozen jokes. Frozen jokes everywhere.
Hold on, we need to, because that’s what this post is about –
SHUT UP BOROMIR YES YOU CAN SIMPLY BUILD A SNOWMAN. SIMPLY AND EASILY WITH ONLY SOME 2X4 AND DECORATIONS NOW SHUT YOUR FOOL MOUTH.
Hey, let’s build a snowman! This is another quick and easy winter/Christmas decoration that’s easy enough you can do it with your kids!
Stuff You’ll Need
1.5 ft of 2×4 – these can easily be made out of scrap wood.
Decorations (fun hats, buttons, scarves, etc)
saw (any saw will do, miter, circular, jigsaw, even a hand saw)
Anyway, here’s what you do: take your piece of 2×4 and cut into three sections: 6″, 5″, and 4″. Yes that equals 12″ and I told you to use 18″ of wood. That’s because saws leave a kerf and can rip out up to 1/4″ of the wood when you make a cut. Then fit them together like so, glue, and clamp:
That’s all the woodworking part. Really! Told you it was easy. Once the glue dries, sand it smooth and paint it white. Then you can distress it if you want to look rustic like we did, or leave it as is. Now you can add your decorations! We made a little orange wood nose and painted on eyes. A scarf made out of cloth tops it off.
It’s simple and customizable! You can add a hat, buttons, arms out of sticks, even boots if you want. You could make a snowman army. You could rule the world.
